This is one of the most powerful exercises you can do during the day. It will be easier for you to put more attention of your environment and at the same time to appreciate what you're watching. Practicing mindful watching you can start to deeply connect with what is surrounding you and moving away from the rat race. This exercise will take your mind from a place of thinking and doing to a place of noticing.
Choose something around you that inspires you to look at for a few minutes. If it's something from nature, it's better. It could be a tree, or a flower, or even a rain drop. How many colours can you notice in a rain drop? What about the shape? Maybe constantly changing.
Don’t do anything and when thoughts arise just go back to the object that you are looking at. Simply settle your mind into seeing. Observe it as if you were seeing it for the first time. Allow yourself to be embraced by its shape, its colours, its smell.
Enjoy it!
